Mind's Café

This is one place you should go to with your friends.

It's opposite Paradiz Centre, one of those shophouses along Prinsep Street just in front of the overhead bridge.

It's a café where you can play board games. Sounds boring? Wait till you see the number of board games they have there. Definitely a place for big groups to go to. ;)

Oh and they do serve snacks and drinks.

Prices vary depending on which set you choose. From what i saw, the best one seems to be the "any 4hrs from 12pm to 6pm" set. Can't remember the price though =P.

Trying to organise a pool session for the 27th OR 28th June.

That would be NEXT Friday OR Saturday.

Hopefully most of you will be free on one of those days. It would be nice to have a class outing with at least half the class there =)

Do provide suggestions on other things that we can do too (post it in the tagboard, I'll keep this post updated).

ALSO, do work hard for your mid-year exams, this can be something to work for for those who have no goals in mind =P

Hark Hui's GP Group

on behalf of hark! i shall give out instructions. in case you've forgotten, syazwan, yong jian, jessica and hark hui are in the same GP research group. researching on wind energy!

so it's a bit late. but better late than never. we will research on separate components and collate everything later on.

so here's the different tasks for everyone.

yong jian-- estimated present output and sources and costs
syazwan-- pros and cons of using wind energy in terms of efficiency(power output), costs,
environmental impact
hark hui-- pros and cons of using wind energy in terms of political impact on immediate
neighbours, international community(Middle East etc.) and international
organisations(UN etc.)
jessica-- case study of one nation that uses wind energy and benefits/difficulties experienced.

oh and pls add your argument on whether singapore should/should not have wind energy as power source. your opinion ya. if negative, recommend another source of energy and why we choose that. if positive, then how to minimise the detriments (argue to an extent why we should rely on wind energy)
all these can be found in the handout!

Hmm... just to get this already late post started (those 2 lazy bums tsk tsk), I have these 3 videos that are not so great but just enough to whet your appetite for some "unglamourous" shots of 0608...

our class outing upgraded to 2 days! haha!
day#1
we met at city hall! walk around HMV whilst waiting for YJ. (i found KAT-TUN in HMV!!!!!)
next, we went to marina square.. and went to play in mini toons and more than words! they have the strangest toys... after that, jin kee started singing the pokemon song-.-" and we broke into this mini argument on where to eat. and we decided on *drumrolllllll*

SEOUL GARDEN! started eating at 1400hrs and left at 1700plushrs. hahaha! after that, we walked off all our fats! we walked to esplanade, went to wow at the popcorn shop in esplanade mall*YOU don't mess with the zohan(is that how you spell it?)*and then we walked to suntec! we were trying to find for a place to play pool! but we got SUPER sidetracked! hahaha! our class has otakus! we found an otaku shop too!! anyways, in the end, we couldn't find a place to find pool.. so we walked ALL THE WAY BACK to marina square and played pool. it was 3vs3, Cal,YJ,Min'er on one team, with Alvin, Jin Kee and Chin Hao on the other! and of course, i'm the referee! i make the greatest referee right?:D

alvin, cal, YJ, Jin Kee came over to my area to play BB. to burn off the fats we gained the day before at Seoul. my bro joined us. yepps. we played till one plus. jin kee left to head towards pasir ris. the rest of us then went to eat at pek kio market! the food's the BEST here! REALLY! erm then me alvin and cal walked around the area, re-discovering our childhood! we 'played' at playgrounds! ate ice lollies! and i sent them off! haha. and i have no idea what they did after that. so one of you add on? or sth?

Holiday Homework

Here's your holiday homework checklist (not including econs and geog homework):

• Physics "waves" tutorial; find the lectures online at either schoolbuzz or IVLE (http://ajc.asknlearn.com/). Online materials expire on 20th June.
• You might want to study all the way up to Chemical Energetics for Chemistry.
• You might want to complete the "JC1 H2 Maths Revision Exercise" and the "Temasek JC 2006 Year 1 June Common Test" for Mathematics.
• Questions 1 and 2 for Extension of Cold War tutorial. You might want to read the reading package given by Mr. Teo.
• Chinese homework online at IVLE. Do all the exercises. I know, it sucks...
• Chinese book report. Must include the book's name, the author's name, the book's number (书号) or whatever that means, a summary of the book's content and a reflection.
• There's consultation sessions with Ms. Tan for maths on the 17 and 18 of June from 8:30 a.m to 1 p.m.
